The Ugly Barnacle is the magnum opus (and only opus) of author Patback. It received critical praise for its realistic depiction of mass genocide, with particular attention given to its economy of language, so economical that the entire story is fifteen words. Patback has not announced plans for a follow up, and if he did, it's unlikely that it would be a sequel to The Ugly Barnacle, due to complications arising from the fact that he killed off every single one of its characters. Even as a standalone work, the writing has gained a cult-following for its unique views on antifeminism and racial prejudice in the times of the great depression. The Ugly Barnacle is often worded as a beautiful collage of love, work, and eventual death at the hands of our godfathers, or whomever we may choose to believe.
